The Busses/ Diablo Rojos
The Diablo Rojos, were at one point, the most common bus transportation mode in Panama until recently replaced with more organized Metro Buses. I hired a well known bus painter to paint my portrait in the back door of four buses and a text in the rear bumper, adhering to the cultural and aesthetic canons of the urban art form of panamanian bus painting. On the rear bumper, commonly there would be a popular saying, proverb, or even religious quote. My “wise” saying was I love Gastric Bypass. I presented myself as a famous latina beauty submerged in pop culture.
